Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood even though they both sound totally different they both have amazing voices and sing songs that kinda tap into whats going on in the world which I like that they sing songs that people can relate too. The Dixie Chicks are pretty good too cuz like you said there not afraid to speak they mind and say opinions in there songs. I like Reba and Carrie cause there low key and are from small towns.

George Strait. He has been nominated for more CMA awards than any other artist. He holds the record for most Number 1 songs on Billboard Country Music charts, and has had more albums certified gold or platinum in the United States than any other country artist and only Elvis Presley and The Beatles have more overall. So, it would seem as though a lot of other people agree.

The Dixie Chicks are my all time favorite band. I'd LOVE to see them in concert.
I also love:
Willie Nelson (of course, he's classic.)
The Lost Trailers (my favorite right now!)
Cross Canadian Ragweed
Dierks Bentley
Johnny Cash
Reckless Kelly
Eli Young Band is pretty good too. Pat Green's old stuff (before his Wave on Wave album) is great but he's way too nashville for me now.
Pretty much I love all classic country or any texas oklahoma red dirt country.

I am a fan of many country artists such as Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Hank Williams Jr., Brad Paisley, Billy Currington, John Michael Montgomery, and Garth Brooks. My favorite is George Strait because he always succeeds at releasing wonderful songs that appeal to me.

George Strait. He's the classic cowboy. He's stayed true to his sound. He doesn't get caught up in Nashville politics and he's still being nominated for awards, selling records and releasing GREAT new music. He has an amazing voice and songs. I love it how he sells out every show and all he does is stand there and sing. And damn when that man is on his horse roping!!!!!

Dixie, L'il Darlin, i in my opinion like George Jones, too, yet my all time famous must be Hank Williams. I remember the day, as quickly as I lived in California, that they introduced his loss of existence. i replaced into especially youthful, yet I remember the influence on my mothers and fathers while they heard the information. i've got been keen on his track ever because of the fact. do in contrast to Hank, Jr., nonetheless, he's moved too some distance from genuine u . s . a .. i replaced into at Vanderbilt scientific institution with My Bro-in-regulation jointly as he had a coronary heart transplant, while George Jones wrecked his motor vehicle and replaced into just about killed. you does no longer have faith the confusion and expertise automobiles, and helicopters, and human beings there while that got here approximately. particularly an journey. additionally, i replaced right into a disillusioned cost ticket holder to a minimum of one among his stay shows in Asheville. NC, while he replaced right into a no-tutor, and cancelled by using his ingesting problem. that still do no longer eliminate from his being a large u . s . a . track artist, nonetheless

Females: Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood. Both have phenominal voices. Such a pure quality to their voices.
Males: Keith Urban and George Strait. Two Opposites, I know. Keith can strum, man and has great songs and lylrics. There is not enough you can say about Strait...

I agree with a lot of the answers on here, especially about George Strait...and Gary Allan....have seen them both in concert and WOW..........they both stay true to their music and don't conform to the new "country " sound.....even though I do like alot of todays new rising stars and their music...
George Strait has always been my Idol for as long as I can remember...my sister used to tell me I need to marry him...ummmm !! Didn't sound like a bad idea...LOL
As far as females go , it would have to be Reba McEntire and the Judds.........
