You have only had your period for 5months, in your 1st year your period probably won't be too regular and your lucky that until this stage it has been.
When I got my 1st period it was 1st day back at school after holidays and then nothing for 3months until I was on a plane on a trip overseas.
It might just take some time for it to settle into a regular routine, but there is not too much to worry about at this stage - stress might have had an affect and that is because your body knows when you are stressed and reacts in ways to try and combat that stress
and congrats on winning the grand final

Two things could have caused this or a combination. You are an athlete and sometimes this will cause you to miss your periods if you lose too much body fat. Stress will cause you to miss your periods too. One of my daughters didn't start her period till she was 16 because she was an athlete and also a dancer, and she was on the thin side. This is one reason girls or women who have eating disorders do not have their periods regularly. I am not saying that you have an eating disorder either. So one or both of these things could have caused it. Also, it takes a while for you to become really regular, and some women never do unless they get on the pill.

Being irregular is completely natural.Your body is trying to adjust to it's changes. Sometimes after the first year it will become more regular, and sometimes it won't on it's own.Sometimes being very athletic can interferre with regularity too.If you are still concerned about it, you can talk to your doctor and see what she/ he suggests.Sometimes they will prescribe a low dose birth control pill, the hormones will regulate your periods. I wouldn't do this however at your age. I would wait till you are a few years older, and give your body a chance to work on it's own. In the meantime, relax.
P.S. congrats on winning the championship!

Yes it is true that stress can cause periods to be delayed but because you are just starting out with having your periods it is also normal for them to be a bit irregular including skipping because your body is trying to adjust to the changes going on inside of it.

Please talk to your mom as well as your doctor when you have your next check up for even more information.

It could be stress, it could be your age and the fact that young girls aren't always regular, or you could have lost weight. As long as you're not having sex I don't think it's a huge deal. But if you start to miss them completely and there's a complete absence of a period then go see a doctor.

i think it's normal that you missed your period in the beginning.
at least that's what happen to me when i was 13, i missed 2 months actually...
it could be stress, but i think your body is trying to get used to this cycle, but if you miss it more than few months, then maybe you should see a doctor.

Since you just started getting your cycle, your body is still adjusting. It is normal for the next two years at least, to have messed up cycles and even break through bleeding when you least expect it.

Stress, weight loss, weight gain, and hormonal changes can affect when you get your cycle.

Hang tight... and make yourself as comfortable as possible while you PMS. Don't be afraid to take some midol, I worried so much and didn't take it for years. Now I swear by it.

Stress, probably. Too much exercise?
Also, its common for someone who has just started their cycle to skip a month or two, perfectly normal.

1st off, becuz you just started gettin ur period, ur hormones are still getting a pattern established and when ur stressed, other hormones released during that stressful time can throw off your cycle. As you get older, it's less likely to do that as you hormone pattern builds and your body starts to work around it...
