i am. for the most part i enjoy being around people...... i cannot say honestly every day, but most days.
and i only have a very few close friends as well. So, the amount of friends you have doesnt necessarily dictate whether or not you're a people person. i think to be a "people person" you genuinely have to be out-going and friendly and be able to strike up a conversation with anyone about anything.... and genuinely enjoy being around and working with people.

I am a people person and yet I only have 2 true friends. The friends that I am talking about are ones I know I can call on in any emergency and they will be here for me in any type of emergency. When I say I am a people person, I say that because I will give my shirt off my back to help anyone in need and my heart breaks when I hear of anyone hurting or in any type of trouble. I love people. I don't cultivate a large circle of friends, on purpose because I live a very busy life and to have a large circle of close friends, I feel you must be able to be there for your friends at all times.
I have many, many people that I will always call my friends and who I will always love. If I could, I would always stay closer to them. I have previous co-workers from many previous jobs that I love very much, but I don't keep in touch with, but I try to know what is going on in their lives through reading the papers and catching up on their lives through the 2 close friends that I do have. That way, if I hear of any problems such as deaths in the families or stuff like that, I will contact these prior co-workers and offer condolences, etc.
I wish I was able to be a better people person than I am able to be. I love a lot of people and have many friends still from the schools I have attended, etc.
Please don't consider yourself not to be a people person just because you only have about 4 friends. If you love people, you are a people person!

I am very much a people person... I can count all of my "friends" on one hand and still have a couple fingers left over... you don't have to have a lot of friends to be a people person...

When you get older you'll discover you hardly have any.
In other words, friends are far and few in between.
