I asked what time it was in your country, stae and city (if you want), meaning which city? I REALLY don't want young peoples addresses. When you don't know which towns are in which States in the USA, it's interesting.

And I always invite young people to answer questions because I think it is polite. That was a terrible assumption.

We did not learn about the USA in that much detail!

Do you know where a town called "Vereeniging" is in South Africa, without having to look it up and/or ask someone?

Nope, sorry, I don't know about that town.

I guess this question is in response to you previous one? I admit I didn't read through all those answers, so I am not sure why you are explaining yourself here....

If a young person (or an old one for that matter) feels uncomfortable answering ANY question, all they have to do is to refuse to answer it! Instead of coming on here and making a big deal about needing privacy etc.

There are incidents where you should never give out any information about yourself that could be used against you. Knowing the city you live in is not that personal however. It would take someone then emailing you to say--"Hey I live there too! Do you want to get together sometime?" that would make it potentially dangerous. And you can easily solve THAT dilemma by blocking email access!

Yes, young people should be kept safe on the internet. But that should be the parent's job to teach their children what is acceptable behaviour, and what is dangerous. We adults who just want to use this forum for the reason it was invented...that is to ask questions and give answers, shouldn't be penalized if a young mind finds a perfectly innocent question troubling.

I live in Paradise, Nevada USA. It's a suburb of Las Vegas. I believe Vereeniging is south of Johannesburg. I'm probably the only one you'll encounter on this board who has visited the Vortreker Mueum in Pretoria and learned about the march done by the original settlers from Table Bay in Capetown into the interior.

I never give out my email address to people I do not know. Good way to get your computer hacked or send a virus to you. Now I do say where I live. I live in the state of North Carolina , USA and it is now 6:27 am, and I am on vacation and wide awake. I wanted to sleep in..oh well..have a great day.

This reminds me of Ms. S. Carolina's response to the question, "Why do you think that only 50% of the people, when asked, could not identify the United States on a world map?" Of course her answer will haunt her for the rest of her life..."well, they don't make enough maps..........." and the answer went on, and on , and ....." until Mario Lopez had to remove her mike before she completely buried herself....poor thing.

No, do not know that town. Due to privacy, most people do not necessarily want to give what town they live in, but will tell you the state. My state is California.and it is 12:15 AM.

questioning or answering is no harm.but, get to know peoples from other country is .better than to ask about what time in other country. you just can refer to the world time. maybe you are in USA. i am in Malaysia. so we can talk of our country for changing information. but first, we must get to know each other. then you can ask for the time. am i right?
