all different catalogues in America, and the occasional auction. Can someone please help me think of a "COIN" agenda'd visit here (ie,-maybe someone knows a cool coin collector, or great site, or auction coming up, or ANYTHING that will enable him to buy his beloved coins?) He doesn't care if they are old or new (preferrably new, but any country and either used or not is fine with him. I really want him to enjoy himself, and this willl add icing to the vacation-cake so to speak. please advise
ps-BEST is to actually go somwhere, not just mail order.

I go here to discuss coins. The people here collect, sell, trade and can answer pretty much any question you have about coins and/or coin collecting.

Go to a local coin dealer and get a copy of Coin World or Numismatic News, they are weekly coin papers. In the back section is an area that lists coin shows for each state. Look to see what shows are near you, or where are going and take him too one or all. Check with local coin clubs also for they may have one and not have put it in a coin paper. I am glad your uncle likes coins but to just buy up a lot of coins without a goal is to just have a lot of coins around. I have put together all the U.S. sets that I care to or could afford too. I have a complete set of Lincoln cents, Indian cents, Washington quarters and so on. I know have a goal to collect a coin of all the Chinese Emperors, with varieties. A friend is try to put together a set that is one coin from every country that exists today and the ones that are no longer around. It will take him a life time and doubt he will ever finish but he is going to try. I also collect all historical medals and tokens I can find.

From your spelling of "favourite," I can see that you are not from the States. My son has a beautiful coin selection, but you'll have to come to sunny South Africa to see it!

Try this site. You never said what area you are from but this site is country-wide.
Hope you and your uncle have a great time.
