how do you drain the life from laptop battery?

I need to drain my Lithiom battery for calibration but have run into some clitches:
specs:
Acer Aspire 3003
Winxp SP2
Bios is current
problem:
1.the current bios and every other bios from Acer sucks, no battery utility.
2. No Acer/Aspire battery utilities
3. battery lasts maybe 12min
4. unable to find 3rd party battery calibrater/drainer

Maybe try getting your battery checked out at your local computer store. Disable the wifi when your not using it.

set your computer not turn off and unplug it and the battery will run all the way down
