I just found out Pavarotti lost his battle with cancer.

They were saying on the news that many thought he had lost his voice in recent years.
Do you agree?.

I loved him,and sometimes i didnt, but it in my mind cannot be taken away from him, that he had a wonderful voice.

I think,he was a generations introduction to opera,as he was famous for singing at football matches.Well, im not a football fan, but,if thats how to get great music across to the masses then, its a good thing.
I copied a bit of a news report of his passing below.

MODENA, Italy (Reuters) - Italian opera star Luciano Pavarotti, hailed by many as the greatest tenor of his generation, died early on Thursday after a long battle with cancer, his manager Terri Robson said.

"The Maestro fought a long, tough battle against the pancreatic cancer which eventually took his life.

Well, I think he was, to me, the greatest tenor of his time. He had an incredible voice. I heard some stuff of his from the 70's and 80's and I have never heard a voice like it. To be fair, later in his life, by the time he was singing at football matches, his voice wasn't what it once was, but it was still amazing. Perhaps now he is dead, and the recording companies will want to maximise their profit on this, they will release his greatest popular stuff, and the masses who know him only through his football stuff will get to hear just how incredible he was before then. He certainly did bring opera to the masses. I was raised on his music, my dad being an opera fan, and you could always distinguish his voice over that of any other tenor. My dad was so into him we even had a car sticker with I heart Pavarotti on it. He was a truly gifted man, its a shame he had such a battle before he finally got his release.

I became a fan of Luciano Pavarotti when I was in my late teens; I had seen him on a TV show and when he sang, I was blown away. I've always thought classical music was o.k., but it was Mr. Pavarotti who taught me to develop a deep love and understanding of it.

I've heard that Enrico Caruso was a brilliant tenor, but he couldn't compare to The Maestro. Mr. Pavarotti brought passion, joy, pain, sadness, anger, bravado and fun into every song. Whenever he sang Nessun Dorma, it left a lump in my throat and shivers up and down my spine.

In my opinion, he never lost his voice; I believe he got better as he got older. When you're blessed with a gift like that, you never lose it.

Bravissimo, Signore Pavarotti! You will be dearly missed.

Great musical talent now gone, very sad news indeed, i feel like I had grown up with his music as he was one of the first opera singers that i heard many years ago now. A great loss to the operatic world, as to whether he was losing his voice yes one would expect that, he was 71 after all.

He was the Godfather of Opera- if you asked people on the street to name a rapper, you'd get many different answers, but if you asked someone to name an opera star, they'd say "Pavarotti" -- he was the the King, he will be missed.

No keyboardists even with the undeniable fact that. gadget has some great human beings. Singer, lyricist, guitarist, drummer, and bassist. you prefer a vocal overall performance? look into "Pushit". possibly a guitar riff? "Stinkfist". Drumming? "Ticks and Leeches". A bassline? "Schism". Rage against the gadget. i'm hoping rap is positive for you. they're rap metallic. i think of you have listened to them previously, yet in case you have not, they're extremely a great band. remarkable riffs, unique solos, funky basslines, political lyrics, great rhythm section, and so on. attempt a number of those songs: "awaken", "Bulls on Parade", "Bullet on your Head", "Sleep Now interior the hearth", "Killing interior the call", "Take the capability back". The Strokes. those adult adult males are great. mutually as they don't seem to be underrated as a band, many of the individuals are underrated interior the instruments they play. i would be straightforward and say i've got basically listened to a minimum of one album, even with the shown fact that it replaced into great. hear to their finished debut; it extremely is storage rock greatness. basically a pair.

I will miss him, his wonderful smile and his effortless ability to touch everyone in the world with his voice. He was also an extremely generous and caring person. My thoughts are with his family, they must be devastated.

We're all richer for having shared the same time with LP :)

Just because he died doesn't mean his music is no longer available (CD's, DVD's). It just means there won't be any NEW recordings or live performances of his anymore.

His mortal body may have died but,
his music will live on forever.
