Stupid means you can't understand something that you know of.

Ex. You don't know why 2 + 2 = 4. But you know it's true.

Ignorant means you are capable of understanding something, but you are just not aware of what that something is.

Ex. Some foreigners think Americans are only white. But those ignorant people didn't grow up in this country, so they are not aware that being American is not relevant to race/ethnicity. But if they knew this and understood this, than they were just ignorant.

Great question, there are some differences, but they are still driven by a fine line of mentality. Being stupid can be many things such as not knowing how to do something, or something that is obvious. Peoples brains work differently to all kinds of equations. Some are great at math, history, or just plain common sense! There is a difference between book smarts and common sense. Stupid is also blown out of importance in our country as a simple and hurtful verbal attack. Never take your own stupidity or anyone Else's to any measures. Example some people believe that south Americans aren't intelligent as people who reside in the u.s.
Its a very ignorant thing to say. Its just a spacer of language barriers.

Ignorance is bliss, meaning most people are ignorant because they choose not to believe is something or of the obvious. Its the automatic refusal of another comment, or statement. Ignorance is also a layman's term for calling someone stupid that doesn't sound so mean or cruel.
And the final meaning is ignorant people usually only want to believe in what they think, maybe they are uneducated on the subject or topic at hand. Most people fall in this category due to our human nature to believe we know all, and nobody can tell us different. Everyone of us truly has an answer for everything, and especially will comment on someone else either hurtful, or starting/passing around rumors.

-Hope that helps

education has nothing to do with stupidity or ignorance its the choices you make knowing full well what the effect is gonna be making it a stupid choice and ignorant cause you knew what would happen and still chose to do it. hence being stupid for doing it and ignorant for knowing what would happen.

Well, that's the thing:
Being stupid really isn't one's fault; you can't blame someone for it, and he/she could realize it (theoretically).
On the other hand, an ignorant (usually) THINKS he/she is brilliant and has no motivation to become better!!!!
