Jan 18, 2005 | Once upon a time -- about five years ago -- conservative pundits often talked about "scandal fatigue." Remember scandal fatigue? It was an affliction supposedly either turning voters against Democrats or, alternatively, a weariness in the body politic preventing Republicans from pursuing even more grievances against Bill Clinton. By any objective measure, however, after four years of George W. Bush's presidency, the entire nation should be suffering from utter scandal exhaustion.

Consider the raw materials of scandal that this administration has produced: False claims about Iraq's supposed weapons of mass destruction. Torture in Abu Ghraib. The virtually treasonous exposure of a CIA agent by White House officials. And those are just the best-known examples.

After all, how many citizens can name all the ongoing investigations of Halliburton, Vice President Dick Cheney's old firm? Who remembers that the administration illicitly diverted $700 million from Afghanistan to Iraq? Or that, on Capitol Hill, Senate Republicans stole strategy memos from Democrats, while a House Republican said he was offered a bribe during a crucial vote? Even a conscientious citizen cannot be expected to keep score, so Salon has compiled a list.

It's funny that the same Rep/Cons who claimed that Dems would lose in 06 are the same armchair Republicans who are claiming a huge RNC win in 08.
You people are pathetic!

It is whoever is in power, that is who has the most scandals at the time because the other side is busy looking to out them. You think the media uncovers all this stuff. No, it is fed to them by the other side who knows every thing others on the other side are doing and making a list of who is naughty and nice. The same list would have been made during the Clinton presidency and it was longer. When are you all going to figure out, the two party system does not work. There is no difference in these two parties. All I heard in 1994 was how the Republicans were going to change things and all I heard in 2006 was how the Democrats were going to change things. Nothing has changed and will not until we as the electorate stop allowing the party machines to feed us who they want then let the media trim it down to the ones they want. When we stand up, then maybe all these scandals will stop. Of course, we have people like this guy and others from the right who attack, attack and never do anything to help.

God i wish i knew. What i would like to see is no more reps or dems . We need people in (not Government} that are there to help US and work for US. Close our borders to the illegales and stop that folly. We need people who will not sing the STUPID SONG I HEARD TODAY BY jOHN kERRY and someone else. How they hate George Bush AND AMERICA. i FELT LIKE SOMEONE SHOT ME IN THE HEART. If they hate us so bad i will donate 100.00 to their plane fare to go over there and STAY. What a bunch of RETARDS! Lets see them go to another country and try their slop. The next thing they would hear is the plop of their heads being cut off. They just cannot get over losing the election. Poor little things. HAH! i KNOW THERE IS CORRUPTION ARM PIT DEEP, UNDER THIS ADMINISTRATION. Even Nancy Pelosi just taking money for the benefit of she and her husband. My neighbors and i are keeping track of who does what. Come election day i pray our message is loud and clear. Now there is talk about a vigilante groups. Im there if given the chance.. because of the fact maximum folk of people are finally seeing them for what they are truly, empty suits that have no longer something to grant yet lie and failed regulations. seem at what the congressional republicans are offering now instead funds to President Obama's funds. they're offering the appropriate comparable innovations that they compelled onto the country interior the mid 1920's. reducing the authentic income tax fee to twenty-5% and freezing spending. We observed what got here approximately from that pass, the large melancholy.

Even though the behavior of republicans hasnt been squeeky clean since the last presidential election and has probally hurt more than a few republican candidates we will see another republican president because the best candidates that the democrats can offer up are a woman and a black guy, either of which I don't see the citizens of the united states being ready or willing to elect either of

Keep playing the scandals, over and over. Dems have their fare share of them as well. Oh and Republicans will win because the candidate they offer won't be a diehard socialist who wants to raise taxes, increase welfare programs and talk to the terrorists.

Republicans are famous for CHEAP TALK, but INCOMPETENT ACTIONS. They thrive on corruption and lies. They can't be that smart since so many have been caught red-handed!
