I have many freinds who have used Proactive, and love it. Have you tried that? I don't know where you live, but I always find that in the summer, if I just get a little sun, my skin looks much better, and doesn't really need foundation. Maybe a little loose powder, if you feel shiny. But with a little sun, that and mascara are a great natural look.

Hi there,
I have had exactly the same problem as you.
I am able to wear alot less makeup now, thanks to a few tricks I learned over the years.
I have gone from full makeup, to : Concealer where I need it, masacara, sheer blush and eyebrow pencil and mascara.
Before you begin applying the are basics, make your face a good foundation. Cleanse it with a gentle clenser- not an overly drying one- which will emphases dryness or acne. I like Ceptahil for oily skin.
Don't apply foundation, at all, ever. Instead, get an angled eyebrow brush, or concealer brush, and apply concealer only to the area you need it- scars, pimples, perhaps a dash under they eyes.
Some days, I only do the above. My skin tone and scars have greatly improved, as well as my acne, from not wearing foundation.
But, some days I wear more makeup and these are my tips for those days:
First off, if you must wear blush- stick to a gel, stain, or liquid bronzer. They are very sheer and dont look like makeup.
Second, skip the eyeliners and eyeshadows. They are out of fashion anyways. Curl your lashes and apply mascara.
Third- make sure your eyebrows are well groomed. Wax, tweeze, or pluck them into shape. If they are thin, wear a natural eyebrow pencil- a properly sharpened good quality pencil will look natural. I like Rimmel.
Set with a fine dusting of powder over the concealed areas, if you need it. Avoid putting makeup over your whole face. This makes the skin feel suffocated and produce grease.
Your best tool is the concealer brush. I got an angled eyeshadow brush at walmart and I ust that. Put some concealer on the back of your hand and dip the brush in. Practice on getting the amount right. then with feather light strokes go over the area to be covered, and just blend it in to the area. It works!

Try microdermabrasion if you want to get rid of the scars. To get rid of acne, if you've tried everything else, try accutane. It's the gold standard drug and it really works. Also, go to a makeup counter in a department store and get makeup that matches. To scale down, you could try something with less thick coverage, then go to tinted moisturizer, and then to using just a little concealer and powder only.

It will take time to hide scars, but you can try some foundation primer. One of the more popular primers is Smashbox photo finish foundation primer. It will hide any wrinkles and scars. After using this, when you apply your foundation, your skin will look incredibly smooth.

Lazer treatments. Buy a foundation/powder combo. Add mascara and lipgloss.

fade the scars with vitamin E oil spread over them. wean yourself off the make-up, if you want to still use a little bit of make-up, then go for the mineral powder kind, it's better for your skin.
