When I was little my grandmother and me used to make shrunken head out of apples. I know we used to peel the apple but I forget what we did to make them "head". Does anyone remember doing this and if so could you describe how? I thought it'd be fun to do next month for Halloween.

Peel an apple and coat it with a combination of lemon juice and salt (the site I found gave the ratio of 1/2 cup lemon juice and 2 tsp salt). Carve out the face and than place the apples on a rack in a warm, dry place for about two weeks. Apparently you can use the oven on the lowest temperature, but it'll still take a few days.
