I've heard between 9 and 11 psi. is this right?

If it is throttle body fuel injection, it will be about 22psi. If it is multiport injection it will be 50psi +

Here's a thread off of the FSC.com site. That talks about an 88 model Silverado and give some links in it to what and how to adj. Stating that the GM factory spec is 9-13 for a TBI.

It's usually around 12-15 psi. Any less and you will have a misfire or a stalling condition. Any more and it will be flooding or not starting.

As close to 14psi as possible
