Is he that good from what i hear around here?

Is his career off to a start just like francisco rodriguez?

He'll be like the 7th and 8th inning guy for a dynamite closer (troy percival Angels, rivera, Yanks)

He has starter's "stuff" and can handle the pressure be the future closer as well if the yanks put him in the bullpen...

Joba will be a starter starting next season. The reason he is in the pen right now is because they want to keep him under a certain amount of innings due to his young age and lack of experience with the amount of innings necessary. This will keep his arm healthy and next year you will see all 4 of his superior pitches and how dominant he will be.

You ignored Colby Rasmus on your situation, it is a great omission. Wandy, Ricky Nolasco, and Derek Lowe are the main available palms in this record. truly, Zito must be had for a bag of peanuts probable, yet who might decide for him? i think of the Yankees could be smart to stay faraway from Greinke. He might pitch nicely in long island for a game, yet there is not any way that poor toddler ought to handle around the clock rigidity. He had a breakdown playing for the Royals, so as that ought to assist you to be attentive to approximately his ability to handle adversity. If I had to decide for actually all of us, i might purpose Wandy Rodriguez. he's purely stepping into his top, looks to have finally got here upon consistency, and is a lefty, something that ought to play nicely against the unexpectedly RHP mashing crimson Sox. i'm optimistic human beings will disagree with me, however the Yankees do no longer decide for yet another ace. they decide for a reliable starter that may not get harm, won't have a psychotic meltdown, and can pass deep into video games. Wandy is your guy, and because he performs for the Astros, i'm ninety seven% optimistic they might get him with mid-point possibilities.

No, all indications are that this winter and next spring the Yankees will be stretching his endurance out to make him a starter for next season, as there will be open spots in the rotation with the departures of Clemens, and most likely Mussina, and a pretty poor Free Agent crop of starters.

I'm not too sure that The Yankees want him to be a closer next year. His stuff is way nasty and he can last iniings I think they have pegged him as a starter for next year.

If he can develop a better pitch than just his fastball then maybe. He throws harder but K-Rod's Slider, Change and Curve kill. But Joba is a little older and more developed. about a 70% chance

with yanks in need of closer after Rivera's retirement maybe they use Joba as closer. with his stuff and 100mph fastball he can do better than francisco rodriquez....

no, and he's not the second coming of christ either. he's pitching well at the moment but i would be very weary of any yankee pitcher at the moment. it doesnt seem like they can keep any of them healthy for any period of time.

i'm sure he'll come off of this good pitching streak that he's been on, and turn into just another average, overhyped yankee player.

but k-rod... he is not
