In a recent study it was found that the Iraqi government will not be able to create stability in the next 18 months. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070906/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_iraq Is this going to continue indefinitely or is there a time when the Iraqis will be able to create stability.

I believe they will be able to govern themselves, the Iraqis, but it will take time and the longer the U.S. is there, the longer it will take. Here's why I say that....the absolute overwhelming majority of indigenous Iraqis strongly agree: change must come from within, it cannot come from American occupation. The Iraqis want us gone. Doesn't matter if things would hypothetically be worse (hypothetical argument - be careful), what matters is how they feel. They simply don't want us there. I've heard many so-called "experts" and even brave veterans suggest that there will be problems if we leave, throwing around buzzwords like "failure" and "retreat" and "cut and run." I haven't heard many specifics nor have I heard them address the quite unhappy vocal majority of Iraqis who want the American military gone. My biggest problem with the Iraq war comes down to two things: (A.) the price paid in human life, and (B.) the price paid in American taxpayer dollars. We can't afford either one. This is not a dramatic war epic on A&E in black and white...this is real life. Every time I see another death in Iraq, I see a family whose world is turned upside down and must now cope with the grief, make funeral arrangements, etc., learn to live without that individual whom they have lost. Their lives are changed horrifically. For what? I can only describe it as unacceptable. It is unacceptable.

The Iraqis are trapped in tribalism, and the animosities between Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds are too powerful for them to overcome. The only real chance for a strong government is a return to monarchy or strong political/military leadership. Bush has gone all-in with the Iraqi Democrats, and is failing. Somehow, he will have to let the Iraqis sort through and find a strong leader to unite the country. There is a reason why Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait and other Middle Eastern countries live relatively peacefully under kings and dictators.

The Iraqis will settle their problem and create stability WHEN WE LEAVE and not before. We have politicians more concern about their HONOR than the safety of our troops, more concern for a failed policy in Iraq than they are for our troops--When will this nonsense stop--What ever happen to common sense---We need to concentrate on American for a change..

What information do you study? Wait, do you study in any respect or is television your basically link to the international? no person in authority has ever given any of those statements. The info contain that we've not at all meant to take over Iraq - what could we do with it. No, it extremely is not the oil, as we get our oil usually from Canada. The Iraqi infantrymen & police have been killed through fact they're green. this could be like sending our adult adult males to Iraq for bootcamp & have them learn as they pass. come back, once you sit down interior the Chiefs of group & possibly i will have faith you.

Set your mind at ease, my friend! That particular nation has been in existance since the beginning of the human race. If we sould just get our christian asses out of thier way, they would be just fine! They may not have a perfect democracy by the time our leaders think they should, But they aren't set up for democracy. They think & live differently than we do!!! They should have that enalienable right, to live in any way that they so choose!!! Rather we like it or not!!!
