If it is the usuall mouse trap configuration, wedge a small piece of cheese under the curled over part of the metal trigger. It is essential that the cheese be firmly wedged in or the mouse will remove it without setting off the trap. The trap must be so sensitive that you can barely place it on the floor without it going off or the mice will eat the bait right off it without getting caught. You might need to slightly bend or file the little nubbin on the trigger that holds the wire which holds the trap in the loaded position. Most of the traps, I've seen, as recieved, are way to insensitive. Place the loaded trap along a wall in a fairly hidden area with the trigger/bait end towards the wall. If you catch enough mice, you might want to consider saving the pelts!

On top of the trigger. I have found that peanit butter is the best bait. Mice can;t steal it without setting off the trigger. Use only a small amount.
