Groovy; we could all join hands and sing Kumbia.
Those nasty folks who keep promising that they will destroy us will stop if we only destroy our weapons.
We would not be making the job easier for them, they would suddenly become peace loving folks.
You have finally made me see the light.

Alright, I won't patronize you with telling you that is a good idea. You see, war, in and of itself is a money maker. Take a look at history, bud. When our country is deteriorating financially and politically, war happens. You can rest assured that there are those out there that would call that a great idea and never follow through on the destruction of their weapons. Additionally, the US could never produce a task force large enough to police compliance. Think about all the jobs that would be lost also. For everyone who works outside the military realm, it is hard to understand how many people depend on war and the preparation for war. We don't live in a utopian society, never have, never will. So until we annihialate ourselves and our planet we must wage war to be the leaders of the free world.

Lets try it,because what have we to lose! If we keep going with this high tech approach we will eventually destroy the entire planet anyway, I am for anything that will change this spiral into the Earth we are currently riding with full throttle and JATOS in the rear burning away! It's like when Rock Hudson told the Engineering Officer that if they don't pull out of the dive it won't matter what condition the turbine blades are in anyway in the movie Ice Station Zebra!

That sounds great on paper, but in reality the bomb is what prevents wars. Listen to the old Ozzy tune Thank God For The Bomb on the Ultimate Sin album.

Why don't you focus your imagination on creative writing. There is no imaginary control-alt-delete function for society to do what you propose. Watch that old Simpson's halloween special where Homer uses an old Nepalese monkey paw to wish for world peace....quote from Kang "He's got a board with a nail in it!"

Because countries need weapons and war to control scarce resources.

because "naive one"...it CAN"T be done! we don't live in lala land, we live in the REAL world, were there are people that want to kill other people and will always find a way to have big bad weapons to do it with....our planets is full of primitive people and as long as someone out there can hurt us we BETTER have weapons to fight back!

To "nigilate" war, you have to change human aggressive urges first, genetically ingrained to enhance survival in the tough places of our ancestors. Without high tech, we would still be butchering each other with rocks.
