If you've never met them before, it's definately going to be a little weird. You want them to like you though, so just stay friendly and be yourself. If they see that you are trying to get to know them and be open and friendly, then that's a sure way to gain some of their respect. There isn't much else you can do.

It can't be any worse than what happened in "Meet The Parents." If you've never seen that movie, you really should go rent it. You'll get a good laugh.

Good luck!

Expect to be under the microscope. no matter how much they seem to like you no one is ever good enough for your kid. i know there are a few nice in-laws out there. But most are disappointed with the person their kid picked. So be one your toes, do what you can to help around the house, complement them. Be very nice to your wife, and try not to stay more than 3 nights, cuz fish and visitors smell after 3 days or so I have heard. I think this is the most important advise don't stay too long, everyone gets tired of there guest after 3 days.

If that was supposed to be "does anyone know what to expect when staying with in-laws"...then, expect some uncomfortableness, but if you are both yourselves, then the stay could be enjoyable. Respect them.

Never a good situation to live with your inlaws. If you are just visiting, just treat them like your second parents.
