Sometimes there are some musicians whose guitar noodling can be recognized from a mile away ... (same with drums, bass, etc.) Who Are the musicians you can easily recognize blindfolded? It's interesting how one person can pick up a standard, lifeless instrument, and breathe life and character into it.
List the names of artists who play the following instruments, who you can recognize from a mile away ...
Guitar
Bass
Drums
Keyboards/or Piano

Always a good topic!
Quite a few obvious choices (like Santana), so I will limit mine to favorite players or influences:

Bass - Victor Wooten, Chris Squire, Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, John Entwistle
Drums - Neil Peart, Keith Moon, Bill Bruford, Vinnie Colaiuta
Piano (not factoring in if the artist uses electronic keyboards) - Chick Corea, Keith Emerson, Michel Camilo,
Rick Wakeman
Keyboards/Synths - Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Patrick Moraz, Jordan Rudess

When I used to manage a big box guitar store, there was a guy we called "N.P.M." It stood for "Notes Per Minute" - not tone, no definition, just rif **** scaling minus the scales. Sounded like a steel wool thing being scrubbed over a panicked piece of wood.
BTW, I kept a dollar in my pocket to give to anyone who could tell me (first time customers only) what the most overplayed and least well played song in the store - Back In Black. Nobody ever got it.
Guitar - Eric Johnson, Leo Kottke.
Bass - Flea, Alan Picard (you've probably not heard him)
Drums - good gravy, too many to answer here. Animal?
Piano - John Tesh, in a bad way, and Liberace

A bass should be able to be played through a regular guitar amp unless that amp is extremely weird, but I'm not sure if guitar foot pedals can be used.
