Just confiormed on BBC World News - He has died aged 71.

So sad, another victim of cancer, may he rest in peace. His voice and music will go on though.

Selvan I am watching it on BBC World News - he died at home of Pancreatic Cancer. I'm in Greece - check CNN another poster says it is on there too.

Yeah, just turned on the radio and expecting to hear the sports news and they were talking about Pavarotti and i was wondering why, then i just saw the headlines on yahoo.

he died this morning from pancreatic cancer, surrounded by family and friends, the saddest news and one of the most glorious voices of all time has gone, may he rest in peace.

I'm sorry to hear the news. Unfortunately, he had pancreatic cancer and that type of cancer has such a low survivability rate.

GOD REST HIS SOUL. I watched him on tv couple of times, it's sad...Hope there's a cure for cancer soon (besides chemotherapy)...or a way to prevent that horrible illness.

Yep he's died.
Some of these websites need to update a bit quicker. Just been on digital spy and it still says he's in a critical condition.

Where did you hear that? Last i heard he was very sick. yes. he has died. I just checked CNN and they said its so. Very sad. that man had such an amazing voice.

I know that he was ill and just came out of hospital some days ago. Did not hear that he had died.
