some of our troops did commit war crimes in Iraq - why wouldn't you talk about it? and, i think it was Murtha, not kerry. he talked about the war crimes in Vietnam.

you guys still believe what the man says?

curious. the testimony in the senate this week - i'm sure you've been listening on c-span - is that Iraq isn't meeting the goals and, in fact, the govt. is collapsing. There's no water in baghdad, no electricity in most of the country, and 10,000 people a month are fleeing Iraq.

This is kicking ***?
Like that was mission accomplished, i guess.

Of course we should be ashamed of war crimes. Are you a sociopath? We're supposed to be the good guys.

And as I recall, everyone was quite upset about the beheadings. Do you have to constantly rewrite history to stay sane?

Thanks for the info, Ariel.

Lots of Americans are being treated as enemies in our own country, too.

I used to say it's like we've fallen through the looking glass. But, it's gone beyond weird to just awful.

Your boy Murtha may be in some hot water if his comments about Haditha turn out to be not so true if all the charges are dropped.

Proud?
I think not

As I recall, the mission was to get those responsible for 9-11 and punish them.

In my wildest dreams I would never have though allowing MORE opium to be grown to be a punishment for those who backed and hid the man responsible of the planning of 9-11, and have we caught Osama bin Laden yet?

I would never have thought that we would need to resort to KGB like tactics to extract information from people, some of them as young as 13.

I would never have thought that a president would sign a law and then add an addendum saying he would only follow it if he wanted to.

I am proud of the fact I never voted for GWB and that rather than have some talking head tell me what Bush means, I read for myself and listen to the speeches so I can fact check him.

Standing behind the president isn't what makes someone a patriot, standing behind him when hes right does.

I have taken issue with every president since I was able to vote. I cheer them on when they are right, I nay say them when they are wrong, THAT is what real patriots do.

I am an Australian.

Bush and Howard are just two little boys who have been given big toys to play with. And they are not playing very nicely.

A lot more is going on here that you good people are hearing about.

Because of all the road closures people are having to take detours that add an extra hour and a half to their commuting times to get home from work.~ then to have to wait for 45 minutes to enter a street~ only to find out that GB decided to walk an turn his nose up at all the trouble people were put to!

People are having guns aimed at them because they accidentally turn on to a street that connects with the route plans.

People are being searched kilometers away from any action.
We are being treated as enemies ln our own country.
All this is just a big fiasco~ a photo oppertuinity for john howard!
And it is costing us~ the taxpayers millions of dollars!
The security measures dont even work! Two pissed Aussie blokes were discovered in the bar of the hotel where GB was staying an hour after his arrival~ yet it was supposed to be in lockdown!

JH &GB should have their toys taken away from them really soon!
Its just a joke who is running our countries!

Here is a headline for you all~~~" Aussies tell Bush ~ We dont CARE! GO HOME!!!"

You guys don't get the truth about some of your solders in your news, the way we get over here.

It's hard breaking and mind boggling.

Middle of the night, American solders break peoples door, then throw grenades followed by shooting and murder the whole families while in their sleep! WHY! because they suspect one or two houses in that area have weapons.
And none of those houses they cleared had weapons. Just regular families.
We see remains of the children which is easy to notice. These kind of news, drives every body insane. The sad part is, we can never see some remorse in solder faces afterwards! some even have smiles on their faces and shake each others hand!! Some times we get news that, those solders get promotions! it's crazy!

If this is "kicking what ever", Americans are doing it perfectly!

I've not been proud of this President for one second. I wasn't proud that he ran, nor when he was elected the first time, and certainly not when he stole the election the second time. He's a predjudiced, war-mongering, moronic, spoiled brat bigot and I'm counting down the days till he's out.

Yes well one thing about Aussies they are skeptical of what Bush says we know whats happening that's why John Howard will be voted out.
Then our new prime minister will withdraw our troops from Iraq.

Pres. Bush is simply continuing with his agenda. Why should any of us be proud of what he has done? He lied us into a war...suspended Habeas Corpus...tolerated torture...bungled the occupation of Iraq...etc.

He lied us into the war in Iraq. He has badly bungled the occupation of Iraq. The simple fact is that in Iraq the Shia hate the Sunni hate the Kerds and vice versa. There is no victory for the U.S. in the civil war in Iraq.

We might as well pull our troops now. Whether we pull them in 10 minutes or in 10 years, Iraq will have its civil war.

There is only one way to tell when Herr Bush is lying.

He is lying if his lips are moving.

Absolutely not. I also find it amusing that some are truly confused on patriotism actually is. Supporting our troops is not the issue. It's blindly supporting a commander in chief that has virtually left millions on the home front without adequate health care, he has demonstrated a lack of fiscal responsibility, we have experienced ungodly tuition and energy increases, these supposed tax cuts that can't begin to offset the cost of living increases, and he put us back into the dark ages with scientific research and personal freedom.

Yup! proud as ever! He's not afraid to tell it like it is. OH, and isn't beating up Iraqis the definition of "kicking as s"? Sure it's a little more literal, but at least he was telling the truth.

We ARE making progress in Iraq. I know it's a little hard as a lib to see ANYTHING but opposition to the right, but please, just this once, try to put aside your pre concieved notions and be receptive to an outside point of view.

We were receptive to outside points of view when we realized things weren't going the way we wanted and decided to change strategies. Considering the short amount of time that has passed since we changed course I'd say we're doing quite well.

I do understand, however, that it is not in your best interest politically to admit that we are doing well in Iraq, so i guess i don't expect much other than more of the same...
