My brother wrote a book and has wanted me to illustrate it. What is the best way to do the book.. what I mean is what size should the paper be and what medium is best?
Please help me out and give me as much info as possible.. Thanks.

I love this kinda stuff my creative juices are really flowing!!!
Water color & pencil sketch. If you can't draw all that good get a coloring book and find pictures for the characters in your book. Xerox them and add a few pencil lines like you drew them yourself and put a little light water color on them. It will look authentic. It's kinda like tweaking a recipe like you want it! Use regular size typing paper, it's plentiful. You could even make the pages look old by slowly hand tearing the edges and dipping them in brewed tea for a few minutes. Hang them out to dry then write or type your words and copy your pictures n watercolor on the antiqued pages. For the hard back you could get two pieces of cardboard off of a box, glue some neat fabric on the outside. Draw a picture on it and paint the title or use a permanent marker. It will all come together nicely.

You can only illustrate his book if he is self-publishing the book. If he plans to go through a publisher he does NOT get to choose the illustrator. The publisher does.

10in. x 7in. seems good, and I would use heavy watercolors, kids are easily drawn in by slight sloppiness, they can relate to it.
