While advice is great and can really help you succeed in life, learning from mistakes are the best lessons as they often are not forgotten. They both tend to go hand in hand and are both extremely valuable. I myself prefer learning from mistakes as I feel that you truly learn and understand something as opposed to just going by someones word.

I believe learning from mistakes builds more character because it is where you start for a new begininb in developing the character. All the mistakes in life serves as a building blocks of your own character. You will have already an image mirror of all the mistakes or errors in life that guides you in dealing with a better life. All ot these are now your shining armor within you.
For those who haven't experienced the situation by themselves, although many are good advicers to others but when the situation calls for it, they couldn't apply it to themselves and this for me is a big question up to now. How come they are so good in giving advices but if they are into the situation they could hardly adopt their advices to their own self.
I believe it is more reliable if one has undergone the situation and later give advice to others because there is a foundation of experience in life which you could share and give advice to others. This is more realistic than being hypothetical.

No, i do no longer agree in any respect. we are able to all make blunders and we could learn, yet we could repeat the comparable mistake additionally. with a bit of luck, we do learn from our blunders if that's what you will call them. all of us choose advice and that is as much as us as to no be counted if or to no longer take it. a man or woman who has been by a matching problem may be greater expertise and have reliable advice or no longer. Making blunders and taking advice can or can no longer build character. character comes from a lot greater suitable than making blunders; residing, suffering, suffering, morals, values, innovations, upbringing, no upbringing, adverse, wealthy, black, white, too a lot is going right into someone's character.

If a person gives you advice, it must mean that they care for you. Even without the experience, it's just an opinion. You don't HAVE to listen to what they say. Sometimes it's good to learn from your own mistakes because you'll know how it feels to mess up and REMEMBER that part of your life.

Yes, but people can't help but warn you if they made the mistake themselves.
Although, the best way to learn and build more character is learning from mistakes. Although, if you are smart enough you will listen to that person i.e. parents, teacher, friend, etc. and stay away from whatever hurt them in the past.

Taking unsolicited advice is always bad. Learning from mistakes definitely builds character. Learning from other peoples mistakes can make life somewhat easier too.

Making mistakes definitely builds more character. Unless of course one does not learn from said mistakes. This only causes pain and more mistakes.

Sometimes life itself can be a good teacher. Even though I am a Christian, I have always thought that sometimes experience is a good teacher, and whether you suceed, or fail, it does help you to mature.
On the otherhand some advice is just too good to ignore!
Either way you mature on certain aspects.
It's all part of growing. And until the day we die, we continue to learn every single day. It is part of this thing called life.
