Agreed. And, I advocate strongly for a national strike of women workers, insurance boycotts, banking cash-outs, stock sell-offs, hospital closures, school closures, cessation of all shopping and an all-out female military personnel recall. Isn't that what the anti-feminists want, for women to assume their place at home? Let's give them their wish, ladies. Name the date.

I like the ERA.
It's just three sentences that confirm the sex- and gender-neutral reading of the Constitution that's been the norm for the past twenty-five years, at least.
I'd very much like to make sure my future grandkids (or grand-neices and nephews) have rights that are at least the same as I have now, and definitely the same as each other.

It should have been passed. It would not have meant unisex restrooms and the mandatory drafting of women into the military, like many of its critics maintained. What gets me is how the groups who wanted this amendment to fail are also the ones who want a flag burning amendment added to the Constitution. I don't want to sound offensive here but why is the flag considered more worthy of a constitutional amendment than half the population of the US?

I dont think the constitution should be tinkered with. Patois yes thats what the anti feminists want, but not necessarily what the big bankers stock holders of walmart and everybody else who makes a dime involving human resources wants. They actually contribuited to make women want what they want them to want.

Oh, but we couldn't do that. After all, if we did, gay people would marry each other and housewives and widows would never get Social Security benefits again!
But that's what Phyllis Schlafly says, and we don't have to listen to her, anyway. I want my ERA.
