I don't think so. First of all, abortions are easily preventable because of abstinence and birth control. I know birth control isn't 100% effective, but it's close to 100% and in the extremely unlikely event that a birth control method fails, there's always adoption. I know people say there might have been exceptional circumstances that might have necessitated the abortion, but abortion is never the only solution. There's always a way around it.

Yes, Darkblade. Every baby DESERVES to have a chance to live and rape doesn't justify the taking of that life. I am completely consistent in my pro-life views. Besides, even rape victims have other options besides abortion. They can get therapy and support groups.

Abstinence is 0% effective. How much money has the Catholic church spent to cover the fact that abstinent (celibant) priests don't keep their vows. Abstinence is not easy!! Even more so for people who don't commit to a god.
Read the book "Freakonomics". The authors statistically show that rate of crime started a sharp decline about 15-16 yrs after the Roe vs. Wade decision. That behaviour was observed in Canada, UK, Australia and in Europe.
I agree that abortion should not be used a form of birth control but you must take into account the ability of a parent to take care of a kid. People who don't have the means typically can't to take care of their kids properly. These kids statiscally tend to have with little education and commit a larger proportion of crimes.

I'm definatly pro-life.... I can understand circumstances to where a person might want to have an abortion, but I don't think women should be using it as another form of birth control, which is what they're doing "Oh, if I get pregnant, I can just have an abortion, no big deal" yada yada yada.... but I also don't think life starts at conception, it is alive, true, but like a plant would be, a baby's heart starts beating at 25 days, an abortion before that I do not consider to be murder, but it is highly unlikely that you will know your pregnant before 25 days. If people really don't want kids, they should use birth control, maybe more than one, and always have morning after pills on hand....rather than conceiving and killing them. I've known of babies to be born around 25 weeks and surviving, the day before, while she was still in the womb, she had no right to live, and could have been aborted, and the next day, it is illegal to kill her, why is it that one day can make a difference between the fact that a child can be killed or not.... I don;t believe in abortions, but I also cant tell other people what to do with their bodies.

In a perfect world abortions would be preventable. And yes there are alternatives.
But that is what abortion is too. You may not like it, but it is necessary. Take me for example. If I'd gotten pregnant after being sexual assaulted, why shouldn't I have the option?
The point is, it's a personal decision for the woman, and we should have final say as to what gestates or not in our bodies.

sometimes abortion is mandatory for scientific motives, issues can arise for the time of a being pregnant that, if no longer aborted, can threaten the two or the two the mummy and toddler. additionally, sometimes while a woman is raped, they do no longer decide for to pass contained in direction of the excellent 9 months of being pregnant and soreness of delivery, just to make the toddler of a rapist. Abortion is an option, yet even interior the US, there are already lots greater toddlers up for adoption than there are father and mom in seek of them, and that's even worse in places like Africa and China. definite, abortion is mandatory.

I completely agree with you and fully support your decision to live YOUR life YOUR way.
I do not now, nor will I ever, support giving the Federal Government (or any other government for that matter) that kind of control.
Let me ask you, how is it REALLY affecting YOU if the girl up the street has an abortion? YOUR God tells you it is wrong. What if the God of her understanding (or no God if she doesn't believe) doesn't say it's wrong? Why should YOUR religious beliefs dictate what others do with their lives?
I strongly support more resources being devoted to helping to prevent unwanted pregnancies, along with more being done to encourage women to consider alternatives to abortion. HOWEVER, when a young girl is scared she will do some pretty horrible things to herself if that is her only option. Have you seen the Cider House Rules?

In some cases, abortion IS necessary to save a woman's life. In all other cases, it is up to the individual to decide for herself whether she will have the child or have an abortion. And you and I don't have a right to tell her what to do.
Abortions will happen whether or not they are legal. They will just go underground and women will die on dirty tables in back alleys. Is that better? I don't think so.

Those who underwent it will always would say "yes" while doing it and repent it later, may be.
Such questions should not be directed to Churches, not to people forums nor even to the governments or law bodies. But to the men who is the cause and women who suffered the loss. Above all to the conscience that died and power of hands which killed.

Yes, sometimes it is really necessary. There are times when a fetus doesn't develop properly and where the alternative would be a life of pain and suffering that even multiple surgeries couldn't correct. There's just no way around that.

Well there are a ton of kids right on waiting for foster parents and adoptive parents. Imagine of abortion didn't exist??
Furthermore even with abortion being legal, women are still having kids and throwing them in trash cans, down rivers etc. Imagine if abortion was illegal how many more cases would happen.
Making abortion illegal isn't going to stop women from having abortions it's just going to make back alley doctors pop up. Make welfare explode, open a black market to abortionist, make and the list of kids already wishing for a family that much longer.

The facts you state are true ("abortion is never the only solution") but the opinions you state ("Is abortion REALLY necessary? I don't think so") are your own and you've no right to force anyone to live by your rules alone.
