Usually you can go into a program like word. And you go to the insert character. There should be an infinity symbol there. Also if you have an equation writer (word usually has it) , you may be able to find it there as well.

Go to:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map

The infinity sign is located about three-quarters way down. Select the symbol and copy and paste to your document.

On the character map it's U+221E. I just cut and paste from there usually.
