Usually always the book. A recent example I can think of, is the book "The Pursuit of Happyness". I read the book and loved it and I refused to see the movie until just recently. The movie doesn't even compare to the book (I think the book is so much better and gives a lot more background about the Chris Gardner). I can't believe how much they left out. This holds true to other books I've read and then seen the movie. The movies are usually always a disappointment.

I love to read. My mother always read to me and made a reader out of me. But I also love movies. My dad had a cousin that is an actor and 2 very close childhood friends. So he was a real movie freak. But a big reader also. So I would have to say, Both. I go by mood. I am always reading a book. But I watch movies too. I watched 3 movies this week and I am on my second book. ( and i still have time to do other stuff.lol)
White Oleander is one of my favorite movies ever too. I read your profile because it struck me that you always ask really nice questions. Like the ones about the meteor shower. And Renee Z. You are really upbeat. Wow you give answers beyond your years. That's pretty amazing. I bet you read too.And have good family influences.

Always the book.

On average and some occasions, the movie can have it's advantages but still...I vote, the book.

I have to say the book, because the movie can often not always, but sometimes leave out details.
