Annnd how can the left not embrace him?
First of all, it's not funny, it's politics. He's a Republican Senator of a state that is run by a Democrat. If he resigns, chances are there will be a Democrat put there in his place. The party isn't necessarily defending his actions as much as they're just wanting to keep another seat in the Senate.
Second of all, I'm STILL failing to see how what he did was illegal. I do know one thing though, I ain't sayin NOTHIN to NO ONE in the bathroom, or makin any kind of noise for fear that I'll be arrested. Hmm... doesn't seem like much of a free society to me...

I actually sympathize with the Republican leadership on this one. They can't MAKE Craig resign, but they clearly want him to (and rightfully so). The best thing for the Republicans in Congress, for Craig's family, and for Idahoans seeking responsible and uncompromised representatives, is for him to resign. NOW. Not doing so is selfish, self-destructive, and harmful to all those who are now forced into the role of grudgingly offering him their support.
So, Madd Texan, maybe next time you'll think a bit harder before presuming what all "lefties" think.
And andy g- watch the news before casting blind aspersions. Arlen Specter came out in defense of Craig today, and it was Minority Leader Mitch McConnell who announced that Craig would fight the charges and possibly remain in the Senate, although McConnell looked less than thrilled to be making these statements.

I suspected all along there was more evidence that the media hasn't reported about Craig and finally, I hear on a news report last night there is a LOT of evidence that hasn't come out in the media yet regarding that day in the restroom. I can't wait until the media drops the REAL bombshell about Craig's advances.

Like anything in politics it's divide even amongst the members of his party.
The ones that want him out do so because they are afraid if he stays in the democrats might take his seat. In the upcoming election.
The others who want him to stay know he has done a great job as a senator and don't want him to be pushed out because of an indiscretion.
Someday people will figure out that sexual needs come in before political affiliations.
As long as it's not a child and it's consensual it's no body's business.

Way funny.
And you gotta admit hearing a Democrat say a politician should resign for just REQUESTING a BJ is pretty damn funny too!
Jeez. I haven't laughed this hard since the Democrats sent in Storm troopers to deport Elian Gonzalez, and the GOP said "No, let's keep that illegal alien!"
;-)

I wish you lefties would get together on this subject. First, the lefties criticize the repubs for "throwing Craig under the bus for being gay", now the lefties are criticizing the repubs because some of them are defending him. Make up your minds.

I especially like "My actions were misconstrued." I'm sure every man's first thought when a hand appears under a stall wall is to put a quarter into it, shake it, give it five, or whatever.....
