keep the y terms separate
y(x-2) = x - 1
so y = (x-1)/(x-2)

What's the question? Solve the equation? With 2 variables and only 1 equation there will be infinitely many solutions.

xy - 2y - x + 1 = 0
(x - 2)y = x - 1
y = (x-1)/(x-2)

that's an xy=k type hyperbola with a vertical asymptote at x = 2 and a horizontal asymptote at y = 1. there's an x-intercept at 1 and a y-intercept at 1/2.

xy-2y-x+1=0, -y+1 =0, -1+1= 0, you simplify, to -y+1=0,then you solve for y, If -y +1 + 0, -1+1 =o

y(x-2)=x-1
y(x-2)-x+1=0
now you can get,xy-2y-x+1=0
