Hey, I watch the game, played the game at a D-1a level, but in no way am I obsessed with the game like some people are in America. Some people are just crazy for football, live and die for this game. Completely consumed....it's sad. Examples are everywhere. People CRYING, showing geniune anger/hatred when Michigan lost to App. State. It's like their world ended. Ohio State fans buying App. State gear just to bask in Michigan's humiliation. WOW, it's a freaking game. It is pathetic to see where some of the population extends their passion and loyalties at such a level. Why?? I have a few ideas, but what do you think?

Hey yeah, you dudes are right. College football was the sheet. I loved having obsessive stalker fans as my personal slaves. Damn, they bought me beer, did my homework, and paid the rent. I am going to fulfill my last year of eligibilty. See y'all soon! Seriously

yeah hey folks, I know about soccer matches. They're insane, with all the skull bashing and chaos. Yep, that's extreme. But I didn't ask about soccer nor did I ask for a compare and contrast. Original question still remains... and hey it applies to soccer too. and hey to all the other 500 million competitive sports out there in the world. I can list them all if you want.

Its human competitive nature...and its the way we are in the U.S....everyone striving for the best, not to mention we love to build people/teams up just to knock em down.I also played D1 ball...and i guess you could put me in that obsessive group.I destroyed my body week in and week out and to this day never regret it.One of the biggest reasons was simple...The Fans!! Not only did I not want to let down my teamates or myself...i wanted to be the best for the fans.the greatest feeling in the world is to have 75,000 fans screaming and cheering their butts off for your team and you.I will always be a part of football in some capacity...currently coaching. Football is an extension of our great American Pride!!

Thats funny you think American football fans are so crazy for buying certain clothing to piss off rival fans or crying. Have you heard anything about massive brawls or rioting before, during and after futbol games in Europe and South America? Or how about having to close schools near stadiums in Brazil the day before, the day of and the day after games? There's nothing wrong with sparking up competition or being passionate about a sport. You just sound like a drama queen.

Well I think that is mild compared to how the rest of the world reacts to soccer games.I have seen fights in stands, riots, people charging the field.I think supporting your team is mild by those standards.

I live in TEXAS. it's not a game, here.
IT'S A RELIGION!
There is a High School here called ODESSA PERMIAN and, a few years ago, had a stadium built that, any NCAA division 1 school, would be envious of. they were featured in the movie and, T.V. series, Friday Night Lights.
is that, OBSESSIVE?!!!
