My reaction would be one of little surprise, because I'm expecting it to happen - probably in the late summer or early fall of 2008.
I foresee two scenarios, dependent upon the circumstances at that time;
1. If the Bush administration feels Republicans MUST win the '08 elections in order to continue their 'war' in Iraq (and - by then - possibly Iran), there will be another 'terrorist attack' on U.S. soil, this time in the Midwest (probably Chicago or St. Louis). Bush handlers will order Bush to declare martial law [which is easier to do now since Bush virtually voided the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which gives him authority to declare martial law without even having to notify Congress first, or get its approval]. Bush will be told to claim that a change in administrations would not be in the 'best national interests', and will remain in power indefinitely until all objectives are accomplished in Iraq and Iran [meaning all OIL has been secured and all WAR PROFITEERING has been exhausted].
2. If, on the other hand, Republicans feel confident that an economic depression is on the horizon [which I believe is going to happen shortly after Bush is scheduled to leave office, probably in 2010], you will see a mediocre attempt at winning any '08 elections. Democrats will be voted in by a landslide. Democrats will then be blamed for the country's collapsed economy [even though it was Bush's runaway war spending that caused it]....and Republicans will come back strong for the 2012 elections.
Think I'm crazy?? Why not print this out and put it aside for a few years just to see how close I come to being right. -RKO- 09/05/07

I had not heard of this term before your question was asked but read the different websites and.... it's questionable.
My local disc jockey is close with Alan Lamy, a Texas/Houston energy analyst, he has him on his show weekly. He has been saying on the show that for the last couple of weeks everyone he knows who are stock savvy are saying that the market is going to crash. That it was supposed to have happened already with the way things have been looking. He even mentioned how he saw figures on something that were for the following day and that the next day the numbers matched. He did not delve into it. (I don't think he's into conspiracy theories.) But still, it's mighty fishy.
As far as reaction goes, I would be irate. I already feel that 9/11 was an "inside" job to one extent or another. The real question is whether or not Americans will ban together this time through grief and mourning and demand justice for the corruption amongst us.

If it does happen again, this time the people need to demand a thorough independent criminal investigation completed immediately instead of anything resembling the 911 commission which waited over a year to begin their investigation. The press needs to actually report their findings and people need to stop thinking in terms of this being seen as unpatriotic or siding with the enemy.
Then we need to take out the Al Qaida training camps in Pakistan. In fact, why don't we just do that now? Nothing about leaving the training camps there makes the least bit of sense to me.

I'd be extremely angry...even more angry than I was on 9/11. I'd probably be ready to round up all of Congress and the current Presidential administration and have them all hang for treason.
Then I'd unleash the dogs of war the way we should have done in the first place. Send a message to the rest of the world on what a mistake such an attack would be.

Um, it was on every tv in every country on Earth as it happened. If the people in the Muslim world didn't believe it, why were they in the streets celebrating? Talk to anyone over 16 and they'll be able to tell you everything about it (I say 16 because they would have to have been old enough to remember seeing it).

Turn the channel...it's a rerun.
Edit: Options trading?? Take a look at the Dow's 10 year chart....it's over-due a correction based purely on technical indicators. Combine that with the economic data this year and I'd be amazed if puts WEREN'T outweighing calls by a large margin.

I would be terrified and sick.
Probably not much diferent then I was when 911 happened.
I cried and was angry at the same time.
It is so scary when you realize that , this can happen right here at home.
I hope and pray that we will never have to deal with this again.
God Bless Everyone

The war on terror is everybody's concern. Extremists, whatever is their religious denomination, do not observe normal human society norms. The best way is to address the root of the problem, which is really poverty. Extremists seek refuge in their false ideology as a way to gratify their longing to break away from deprived existence. Gandhi once said "Poverty is the worst kind of violence."
