i got a new fish tank and i dont know the amount of gallons. i got it from a yard sale

Are you certain you have the correct measurements? If the tank is 578 cubic feet (what you seem to be saying), that would equal 4,323.74 gallons!

If 578 is cubic inches, that would make the tank 2.5 gallons.

Find the volume of your tank in inches (Length x width x height) then multiply this by .00433. This will give you the gallonage of your tank.
