Given the equation y = 1/2x + 5 and the Domain: 0, 1, 2, 3. Find the range.

How would I find the range? The teacher didn't explain this to us in class, I guess she forgot, and I have a test on this tomorrow! any answers are appreciated, thank you.

The range is your y's.
domain is your x's.
Remember that and it's easy :)

y = 1/2x + 5
y = 1/2(0) + 5 = 5
y = 1/2(1) + 5 = 5.5
y = 1/2(2) + 5 = 6
y = 1/2(3) + 5 = 6.5

So, put those together ----->
Range: 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5

Find the range by plugging each number in the domain into the equation:
(1/2)(0) + 5 = 5
(1/2)(1) + 5 = 5.5
(1/2)(2) + 5 = 6
(1/2)(3) + 5 = 6.5

so range is {5, 5.5, 6, 6.5}

the domain is the set of all first coordinates or X values. The range is all the Y values. All you have to do is plug in the numbers bud and it's yours y= 1/2(0) +5 y= 1/2(1) + 5 ect.

The domain is the input values (x), and the range is the output value (y).

So you just need to put the four numbers in for x and solve for y.

y=½x+5,
x=0, y =5
x=1, y=5½
x=2, y=6
x=3, y=6½

Therefore the range would be 5, 5½, 6, 6½

The domain is all the possible values for y.
The range is all the possible values for x.
Therefore,
0*.5 + 5 = 5
1*.5 + 5 = 5.5
2*.5 + 5 = 6
3*.5 + 5 = 6.5

Your notation is ambiguous. i'm not sure if that is (x - 4)/6 or x - (4/6). besides, i'm going to sparkling up the two approaches. Case I: (x - 4)/6 (x - 4)/6 = x/2 replace the main suitable hand equation by multiplying (x/2) by (3/3) to get 3x/6 (to get the comparable denominator because of the fact the left hand equation; notice that multiplying x/2 by 3/3 won't replace the fee of x/2 because of the fact multiplying by 3/3 is the comparable as multiplying by a million). (x - 4)/6 = 3x/6 because of the fact the denominators are the comparable and the fractions are equivalent, the numerators must be equivalent. for this reason: x - 4 = 3x 2x = -4 x = -2 Case II: x - (4/6) x - (4/6) = x/2 Subtract (x/2) from the two facets, and upload (4/6) to the two facets x - (x/2) = 4/6 Multiply x by (2/2) to alter the denominator of x to 2 without changing the fee of x (multiplying by 2/2 is the comparable as multiplying by a million) x(2/2) = 2x/2 (2x/2) - (x/2) = 4/6 (2x - x)/2 = 4/6 x/2 = 4/6 Multiply the two facets by 2 x = (4/6)(2) x = 4/3

The range is your possible x-values, and the domain are your possible y values. So, if your range is (0,1,2,3), then your domain is (5, 5.5, 6, 6.5).

alright this one is easy. The domain is your x values. Plug 0,1,2,3,and 4 into your oringinal equation. The solutions you get are your range.
