Yes good question Sail cat...the spirits of all that has passed from the physical plane remain about that plane until their development carries them onward or until they are returned for their further development here...
While they remain in the plane of communication of the sphere, any may be commuicated with....there are thousands about us now or even more then that........that are homeless good question thanks :))

Wow. What an interesting thought. I think it is in the nature of the soul to be homeless because the body is temporary, but the soul is forever.

Home is where the heart is. Heart & Soul are intertwined. Where ever the soul may be, then maybe it is at home. I think a soul can feel homeless, if it's lonely.

When a person is a vegetable or brain dead the the soul is homeless I believe.

the spirits need to cross over into their destined plane,but until the grand scheme of things have completed there course,they are homeless,floating around us right now.until the time is right for the souls to return home.

Soul is the name of that 'nothing' or 'everything' which is everywhere and nowhere both.
Childish notion is that soul is something (sensed by your senses) in a home or homeless.

yes...if a woman miscarriage, soul unable back to human's world....if a person commit suicide, his/her soul will hang at the suicide place and repeat all their suicide moment...this make the place become haunted!!!If time for the soul to go to hell...but the soul try to escape.....they will hang in human world and roaming....that will become tough lives for them...they cannot touch the sunlight, not the god's things, and cannot get near to human bight light too...all these will kill their soul and make them forever disappear!!!

i think it can be lost and confused, perhaps trapped between going from its old home and to its new one, as you hear happens with traumatic deaths sometimes, or maybe its just their energy remaining or them returning to the trauma,
our minds can do alot, there is no reason to think that our minds are not active when we pass on to the next part of our lives, so maybe souls have post traumatic stress, and just pop back in
or maybe they drift
