I reckon it's ironic how many people know what they have in there fridge needing to be thrown out. Before food starts to spoil or run past its used by date. I ask my neighbour if she wants any thing I know that I wont be using in my fridge (she works in a youth on the streets crisis centre). Rather than wasting money and throwing it out its given to people who would appreciate it. I never stash any left overs in the fridge either. I put it into closed containers and freeze it and microwave it later. When your a student every cent counts

I have a bottle of honey mustard salad dressing that I've never opened that has been sitting on a shelf for three years. I never plan on using it, but for some reason I haven't tossed it in the garbage, and the garbage can is 3 feet away. I'm going to throw that away right now. I'm glad you asked that question. I just threw it out, thanks.

Mine goes through a weekly purge and sometimes things go that have only been there for a day by the time the weekend cleanup occurs. Tough for them they are history anyway.

Oh heck YES. Year old ice cream, other frozen stuff, some slices of pasteurized cheese (yech), maybe a couple of condiments.
