The Tibetan Plateau occupies an area of around 2.5 million square kilometers (about four times the size of Texas or France), and has an average elevation of over 4,500 meters. Called "the roof of the world," it is the highest and biggest plateau in the world.

Well, there r plenty of mountains over they're, so I'd say that the Tibetan Plateau is the highest area in Asia.

Think about it!
Mt. Everest, K-2, and several other mountains that are among the world's highest spring from the Tibetan Plateau.
All of Tibet, even the valleys are high country.
