I have a 1986 C/K chevy with a 350 small block. The proble is in the fuel getting to the motor. We changed fuel pumps on both sides in the tanks and the fuel filter any ideas what else it could be?

the change over valve may be bad on it,you can try switching it from inside and see if it does make the switch to the other tank, that's usually what makes those act up,it will knock your fuel supply out from both tanks also, and the vehicle wont even start sometimes, good luck with it.

You either have a selector switch or solenoid problem for the changing of fuel delivery to one or the other fuel tanks, plugged up fuel lines or strainers inside the tanks, or collapsed fuel lines due to rust. Take off hoses around the truck one by one and install a fuel hose from the port you removed that leads to the motor and into a gas can to check and see where the motor has the ability of drawing gas from and act accordingly. This can tell you what is not working and you will have narrowed it down. Good luck.

Have you checked power to the pump? If there is power, is the pump getting acquit ground? If not repair the fuel pump circuit. If the pump runs and fuel is in the tank, do you have pressure? You can check this by removing the fuel filter and putting in a T.
