As amd doesnt make a dual core 3.3 i will think u mean the 6400 which is dual core 3.2.

Alot of pros and cons for this answer i would say either or would be fine i have both just not the 3.2 amd i have the 3.0 dual core amd and play everything on its highest settings

Crossfire set up with a raid 0 hard drive config. windows vista 64 bit ulitimate. Have no problems with any games or programs or drivers at all and i have xp pro in a single hard drive 160 gig sata.

Intel has its pluses also so is a matter of prefrence my kids use the core duo because i found my file transfer when installing and so on goes alot faster on my amd.

As for the quad core i beleive there isnt 1 program that is actually made for it yet that a gamer would possiably be able to use for gaming and if i understand right will be awhile before there is.

Go for Quad Core. Intel site lists the Q6600 at $266. While the AMD 6400+ costs $250. But performance wise I don't think the 6400+ can beat it in any area.

Because the 6000+ with 3.0Ghz lags behind the Q6600 in all the games and other areas. I wonder if the extra 0.2Ghz can make any much difference at all.

Its a steal for that price! Even though present games aren't written for multicores, the quad core is so much faster in applications like the PhotoShop, video encoding, audio encoding etc. while handily beating the AMD 6000+ in gaming and all other applications.

You are getting a Intel(much faster than AMD) + Quad Core(much better in applications than dual cores). Its only a matter of $20 extra!!!!

Go with the AMD dual core as none of the games out yet take advantage of the quad core CPU. AMD is known for there great gaming & now a days dual core is the way to go. I am with the poster above though & not sure they make a 3.3GHz but their 3.2GHz has plenty of power for todays apps. Have fun gaming with that monster! Make sure you put at least 2GB of RAM with it!

it don't make any difference.... no software as been written for the dual core yet,,, so getting a quad core. your going to have to wait a couple of years, before there is software for the quad core processor I know it's rough but thats life...
