Who's better??

No "Prashant"....actually he led the Spurs to the biggest improvement in history: 21-61 (1988-89) to 56-26 (rookie year). Duncan didn't come along for another 9 years.

Hint: which one of these two scored over 70 points in one game?

"OLB"...the single most OVERRATED play in history, thanks to NBC ( the NIKE Basketball Channel).

How do you compare a center to a guard/forward? Are you talking about popularity or specific skills?

You people who answer Robinson are freakin insane. This isn't even close. Robinson wasn't even the best CENTER in the league when he played, much less the best player. Hakeem took him to school on a regular basis.

MJ in a landslide. Gimme a break!

Oh, to the guys calling MJ overrated, you have absolutely no knowledge of the game of basketball. If anything, the guy was UNDERrated. Watch some old Bulls games when he is sitting out......His teammates were lousy! If you wanna call someone overrated, start with Pippen.

David Robinson scored 71 points on April 24, 1994 against the Clippers.

As for the who's better? question. It would be hard to pick they were very different players. If you were to ask who's a favorite? it would be David Robinson for me.

The NBA has named their Sportsmanship Award after David Robinson. He and his wife used their own money ($8 million initially, now over $12 million) to build a impressive school from the bottom up in one of the worst neighborhoods in San Antonio.

The Admiral is someone whom I can respect for what he did and does on and off the court.

Michael Jordan had far too many highlights to enumerate, too many brilliant plays to count--the NCAA title-winning basket as a freshman against Georgetown, his famed shot over Craig Ehlo in the playoffs against Cleveland and so many other amazing buzzer-beaters. But there was one play during the 1991 NBA Finals, when Jordan and the Chicago Bulls were striving for their first NBA Championship, that certainly rates up there in his personal pantheon.

Thanks to television replay technology, it's a play that has been seen over and over. NBC replayed it countless times during its coverage of the 1991 Finals, then highlighted it in its game-opening package throughout the following year. And why not? It was a play that reflected all the qualities that make Jordan so unique.

It came in Game 2 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Jordan got the ball out high and started to drive down the lane with the ball in his right hand, eluding his defender. As Jordan took to the air, Lakers forward A.C. Green moved into the lane to block his path, but Jordan adjusted on the fly.

Other players might have been called for charging or perhaps turned the ball over, but not Jordan. While in mid-air he switched the ball from his right hand to his left, twisted his body to avoid contact and somehow scooped it in past Green.

Jordan's play seemed to sap the life from the Lakers, who had won the series opener at Chicago Stadium. The Bulls captured Game 2 107-86 and went on to win the next three in Los Angeles to wrap up their first NBA crown.

Michael "his airness" Jordan is the best basketball superstar on the planet. He's incomparable and amazing. He's the most famous of all ballers. David Robinson should not be compared to MJ because no one can beat the 23 man. ADIOS AMIGO.........

Do you think that David Robinson is better than Michael Jordan? Are you crazy? There is no comparison at all. MJ is the best all time b-ball player.

That is hard to say...different positions and different styles.

Power and aggressive defense with intellectual arsonal- David Robinson

Dangerous killer instinct, offensively gifted, and tactle defense- Michael Jordan

So it is really hard to say....

Michael is probably the best player to lace up the sneakers but that isn't saying David isn't a great player either. So lets look at the entangiables...

Scoring titles- MJ- 12 DR-1
Titles- MJ-6 DR-2 (technially one strike season)
MVP- MJ-10 DR-1

So looking at those, Michael Jordan wins who is better...

If I am drafting - I look at who is on my team. If I have D wade or T Mac or LeBron, I probably pick the Admiral - I need a big man.

If I have Yao or Shaq, I take MJ.

If I want the all around better player, MJ - he did it all. But both were recognized in the 50 Greatest.

Robinson was a very good small forward disguised as a center
Jordan was a over rated ball hog carried by Nike, Stern and the JORDAN RULES

i'd rather have Robinson

As people = David by far. He never enslaved asians in sweatshops to build sneakers for pennies while charging people hundreds to buy them.
Be like Mike? no thanks.

Its Jordan (unfortunately) on this one

Robinson did jack squat until Duncan came around...and so did Jordan until Pippen came around

but one on one if you compare, MJ is better than the Admiral
