LIQUID DISH SOAP

Soap up a dish cloth with hot soapy water and cover the affected area for a few minutes to allow it to dissolve some of the grease. Wipe off as much as possible, then repeat. For extra stubborn spots, use an old toothbrush to scrub, or a spatula to gently scrape. If it's very bad, just wait until you can go to the dollar store and get a degreasing cleaner.

There are a lot of liquid washing soap that will take out most of the grease. In my younger years when i am tasked to clean the kitchen, i dry the stove with crumpled news papers after washing it with liquid soap. Then after the paper, i take whatever is left of the grease using a dry plastic bag. Rubbing the plastic bag against the stove allows the grease to transfer to it.

I'm no good with the home remedy stuff..... but windex is the best for the stove!! Everything else just spreads the grease around. Windex wipes it right off.

I spilled Canola Oil on my floor and I used Ammonia and HOT water, be sure it is VERY hot and wear gloves. I would say I used 1/4 C. Ammonia to 1 Gallon Water or More.

It really did the job..try it on your stove, but be careful of the fumes of the ammonia, and you may have to use it more than once, but it does work, I am not in my own skating rink now..lol.

Get a spray bottle and put 2 cups of vinegar,1cup of water and a squirt of dawn dish detergent, I also add jet dry, but that is optional. each night after I finish cooking I use this, and it works great. I also use it on my counter tops, bathroom tiles sinks and it does a great job on stainless steal sinks. I love it.

Soap and water should work with a scotch-brite pad. I do this all the time. It should also not scratch the surface, but it won't hurt to test a small area to be sure.
