No, I've seen the link, I've seen the laptop, and I've seen the auction. As it is a windows and bought through ebay without a proper warranty there is no telling when it'll break down. Then your outa luck. Most Laptops are internet ready and can mean alot of things. There's also the issue of the incredibly small hard drive and since the battery won't hold a charge, if you ever needed to properly replace the battery it would probably cost a bundle.
Though the Seller has a 100% feedback score the price is also steadily rising at $41 and higher (plus the $30 shipping). You can easily buy a proper, new, working laptop, with all the bells and whistles with at least 60gigs at a back to school sale somewhere for around anywhere from $200-$300...newer models cost anywhere from $400-$500 dollars but are still worth it....
Edit: Auctions have ended and I hope you weren't the sucker that payed $150 plust $30 of shipping and handling....

Most computers on E-bay will not guarantee the battery... my only reservation with that computer is the small hard drive. You also don't say what the price is. I think the least I'd buy a laptop is with 60 gigs. 10gb isn't much more than what will hold the OS and a couple of programs if your lucky.

No, that isn't very good at all. And if there is a defect in the battery then it probably means the battery doesn't work/no charge. Internet ready can mean any number of things. Every single computer built is pretty much internet ready if you have the right stuff. (link might be nice)

Im a little confused but heres the basics. Dont rely on emails. They could be scams. Contact the winner through ebay and do not send the lap top until the money is in your paypal account. Do not send it out of the USA either.Forward these Nigeria emails to ebay for investigation. If the winner is giving you some address out of the USA, then the auction is void because you stated USA only. Contact ebay to get your money back.

Don't do it. I'm not saying the seller is bad or anything but the laptop is pretty strip down to the bare bone and if it had a bad battery then it's not worth your money. I work in IT and you can do better going to HP discounts or refurb.

It's a very old laptop to start with and a new battery will be quite expensive if you can get one for a laptop that outdated. .

No just go to bestbuy.com. Or go in person. When you buy from ebay there is always a chance of getting screwed.
