I need to be in bed by 9:30 pm and right now I am wide awake. If I can't fall asleep by 10:00pm I won't be able to get up at 6:00am tomorrow. I don't want to have to run around and stuff like that and sleeping pills are bad for you, plus I am under 21.

Exercise in the morning. That wears your body out enough that when bedtime comes you want to sleep. Avoiding doing exciting things before bed like exercising. For me a glass of warm milk before bed always works.

Most of these so-called new age musicians put me to sleep with their boring music:

Yawni (oops I mean Yanni)
Vangelis
Enya
Mannheim Steamroller

I'm fallin' asleep right now just thinking about em!!!

Seriously try playing music softly in the background or some of those pastoral recordings (i.e. birds chirping, water trickling, etc.)

My wife watches TV.

I personally listen to sports talk radio.

Sleeping pills are bad if you use them religiously. Once in a while is ok. I use just regular sleeping pills that I buy at the drug store. Generic works great too.

Try AMBIEN - it's not habit forming nor 'bad' for you. At least once in a while.
