I wasn't until I went to Homer, Alaska. It is a beautiful little town on the water. There are a lot of fishing charters that go out of Homer and a lot of "fish garbage" left around. There is a woman there, people call the Eagle Lady. She gets the fish scraps and feeds the eagles. As a result, they just hang around in this one area. There are signs there advising peple to keep the car windows shut.
We brought my dog with us to Homer. She weighed a little over 20 pounds. We found a nice place that took dogs; so we stayed there. The owner of the hotel had a large dog and the owner told me, "just open the door of your rooms and let your dog out whenever you want to, no one around here will hurt her." So I did that for a while. Until a few people saw me and come running over saying, "NO, NO, the eagles will get her, you have to stay with her."
I had never seen so many eagles in one place in my life and after that I was so paronoid that they would try to get my little dog.
So yes, now I am a little scared of them. They can really do some damage.

Not unless I have a tiny little pet out in the yard. They will swoop down & grab them if they get the chance.
