Universities are not "for" a particular subject matter, for the most part. They, especially the larger and more prestigious schools, tend to cover a broad range of subject matters, and if they are prestigious, they are probably good at most of them. You can study science at any of the Ivy League schools. If what you are really asking is what are the best schools in the country for the sciences, if you look at the U.S. News rankings for biology, chemistry, physics, and geology, the same four names keep coming up at the top of the list - Stanford, MIT, Cal Tech, and UC Berkeley. What is obvious is that none of the four is an Ivy League School.

Of the Ivy League schools, Cornell probably has the most comprehensive science program.
Harvard is ok if you are going for Medicine, as would be University of Pennsylvania.
Other schools that are not "Ivy League" but that are outstanding schools with great science programs include MIT, Cal Tech, Stanford, Duke, UNC - Chapel Hill
