OK I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt, and say evidently you are not from America right ?

Yes the United States Congress is in Washington D.C. which is the Capital. of the United States.
The Congress i.e. The House of Representatives and the Senate each have their own buildings. They do not member together unless it is a joint session of Congress.

Also Washington D.C. is not part of any State in the Union. Hence it is also referred to as the District of Columbia.

Reason it was set up like that by the founding fathers was to keep it separate and apart from the states so none of the states could interfer in it's governing which is by congress.

I'm not laughing. I'm crying. I cannot for life of me understand why or how someone could be learning about the US government without knowing where the main bodies of its government are situated. At the very least, I would hope that someone studying history/government would know to at least do a search on US Congress and read the .gov web site that would have provided you with the answer. Please tell me you do at least know that Washington DC is the nation's capital.
