You can see how well they are brainwashed on the subject. Apparently the question reads differently to some than to others. It is a great spin and thats all I hear out of anybody that has anything to do with those people. It's their tactic, sublimation I think it's called, getting someone to refer to something else while thinking of another thing. It's probably taught in some ethics class.

because the Clinton spin machine is the entirety of the media in the USA.
Most people just have a guy, or a group of pundits, but the Clintons have everyone from CNN to MSNBC spinning for them.
It's like a tour de france team, all that spinning.

Read Michael Isikoff's book Uncovering Clinton and also Dick Morris Because He Could. It's all in there.
Basically, thanks to a complicit liberal media, the Clinton lie (sorry, 'spin') machine put out a bunch on misinformation, falsely claimed it was about private sex not felony law breaking by the chief law enforcement officer of the land (the President), used every delay and stall tactic possible, and then, as you can see below, had the audicity to claim it took a long time and cost a lot of money.
Uh, that was because the Clintons were lying and stalling - that's why it took so long.
Also, any investigation that results in an impeachment would be cheap at 100 times the cost. Does anyone complain about how much was spent investigating Nixon?
No, because we Republicans don't make such ridiculous arguments.
Truth Keeper is of course wrong - Clinton perjured himself in the Paul Jones suit depo, not in a Whitewater investigation, so it was completely material to that case. Judge found Clinton in contempt, fined him, and referred to Arkansas bar for disbarment. Bush should have had Clinton tried for perjury, but he wanted to unite - in return, Dems incl Clinton have spit on him.

They both lied under oath, but Clinton's lie was about his personal business that should have not been asked.
Libby's lie effectively stopped the investigation of a crime - the reveal of a CIA cover identity and the identities of others that were in communication or had communicated with that uncovered CIA agent - at their risk.
I know these seem equal to you "Clinton is to blame for everything forever" - but they aren't. The "they both lied under oath" claim is just finding a similar attribute and pretending it is all that matters. It isn't.

Do you really think the public would have cared about the story, and that the republicans would have pushed for impeachment, if it didn't involve sex. Sure, Clinton lied under oath. But what he lied about was sex. That's what the right used as a hook to try and get the public on their side.

Clinton was acquitted - Libby wasn't. That is the main difference!
Other than that perhaps it is Libby deliberately interfered with an ongoing investigation.
Much as the Republican congress seem to be obsessed with Clinton's sex life - it was not the subject under investigation at the time.

Somehow Clinton managed to convince the grand jury that getting a BJ wasn't sex. That's probably the real crime.

He should not have ever been in a position to lie under oath about his sex life. There is a big difference between the two and any rational person can see that. It was a GOP led witch hunt to destroy the man. You can thank the Republican controlled Congress at that time for 9-11.
