Your spider is called an Argiope spider and he is extremely beneficial. Also referred to as a weaver spider because of the pattern at the center of it's web. They can get VERY large. The one in my backyard has a body the size of a siver dollar and he catches lizards. Be grateful he's in your tomato patch. I bet you won't have any problems with insects eating your tomatoes!

nope. You're Fine. What you have there is a common garden spider. They'll eat all the bad bugs off your plants. But it won't hurt you. I'm not telling you to run up a pet it because it might bite. But the bite wouldn't kill you. Just give it space and it'll keep your plants healthy.

Venomus yes, deadly no. Is a weaver spider commonly called a Garden Spider. They eat their weight in insects daily so its a good thing to have them around. Try throwing some insect in its web and see it in action. Its kinda sadistic but still kinda fun to see it move and bundle up its 'prey.'

The two most dangerous spiders found in the US are the brown recluse and black widow. They're both smaller than 3/8 of an inch in diameter. The big ones are usually ok and will eat the smaller ones.

this kind of spider is commonly known as a garden spider and even though it looks scary it is relatively harmless. if it was to actually bite you it would be kind of like a bee sting and that is all. My advice is to not kill it. Just work around it. it is acting as a guard for you garden. It will defend your garden against bugs that will kill your plants.

This is a common garden spider. Nonpoisonous. He is often called a "writing spider" due to the designs he can create in his web. I wouldn't want him on me, though!

she IS gorgeous!!.... if her web is in your way when you want to get the tomatoes, just use a long stick and gently move the web off the plant...she'll move and make another one in another area.... watch later on for her egg case... it will be a light colored sac, a little smaller than a quarter and under leaves that will protect it from the weather.... she's a great helper in the garden!!!...
