Most doctors are able to tell if your baby is head down or not just by feeling on your stomache. You might be able to tell to. Does your baby kick in your ribs, or do you feel the baby kick your bladder? Is there a hard spot by your ribs, because that could be the babies head. My first son was breech and I knew he was breech because I was never kicked in the ribs and he always kicked my bladder, and also I could feel his head by my ribs and when ever I laid down it would feel like his head would get caught underneath my ribs and it hurt. I was not surprised when the doc told me my baby was breech. A doctor should be able to tell if you are breeh without an ultrasound.

It depends on how far along you are. In any cases, and ultra sound sound be able to tell you around your 5th month. In your 7th month and after, the doctor should be able to feel the head. I had twins, and one was breech and one face down, they both are healthy happy toddlers now. Best wishes

NO!
Any SKILLED care provider can determine the position of the baby in late pregnancy by palpating the abdomen. Even paramedics are trained to do this. Any doctor that can not should not be delivering babies PERIOD. What would they do if they ultrasound machine broke/was unavailable?
With a little work many moms can figure it out too.

Many docs can tell, but usually they will have an ultrasound anyway just to confirm. But they won't do that until you're really close to your due date. Baby always has time to turn, some don't turn until labor starts.

Usually a doctor can tell by feeling your tummy what position the baby is in. If they aren't sre then they will do an ultra sound.

Maybe. But the doc should be able to tell just by feeling for the baby's head.
Good Luck! :)

He was also trying to see is the baby was head down.
If the doctor can't quiet firgure out if the baby is head down or not they will send you for an ultra-sound.

I don't know how far along you are, but if you are in your last month, he definitely should be able to tell by feeling your abdomen. If you are not that far along, it really doesn't make any difference as babies turn themselves.

that wasn't a clear answer.
It depends on how far along you are.
The doctor should be able to feel the head and where it is....
Unless you are very heavy and the doctor can't accuretly feel the head.
