x + 3y = 11 has infinitely many solutions:
x = 11 - 3y, pick any value for y, subtract 3 times that from 11, that's the x that goes with it.

so you don't solve this, but you might graph it.

to actually solve it you need another equation. (simultaneous eqns)

to draw the graph, you need to make it follow the format
y = Mx + C
where M is the gradient of the graph, and C is the y-intersect

x + 3y = 11
3y = -x +11
y = -1/3 x + 11/3
so gradient is 1/3 and intersect is 11
then just sub in values for x to get y so you have 3 points to plot, intersect already gives 1
eg. 1. (0, 11/3)

now 3 points, draw your graph

3y= -x +11

y = (-x + 11)/3

y= -x/3 + 11/3

This is a linear solution.

For x:
x = 11 - 3y

For y:
3y = 11 - x
y = (11 - x) / 3

We have nowhere to go after these.
