do you think pro wrestling's future could change for the health of the performers? I mean if Benoit had brain damage that bad, Mick Foley has got to be about dying after that match with The Rock at the Royal Rumble '99.

Well, everyone's body reacts differently to things.

Plus, we have no idea how much the steroids and other drugs affected Chris Benoit's injuries.

It's possible that Mick Foley suffered more damage, but perhaps the lack of steroids (hard to argue that he wasn't steroid free) makes his overall damage not as bad.

It's been proven that football has caused just as much brain damage to multiple players over its history, as well as many other contact sports.

Wrestling, being full of contact, is just the same way.

That's not to say that Benoit's completely innocent due to this. Brain damage doesn't cause as much damage psychologically, but it can act as a catalyst, which may be likely.

I don't believe he had extensive brain damage a convenient excuse to explain away a tragedy. People committ murder-suicides daily and the cause is depression - not brain damage. Vince Mcmahon sponsors comedy & entertainment not real wrestling so this theory just doesn't fly.
