I would rather have it that the rest of the world was ruled *like* America, not *by* America.

Its not exactly America that makes America so great, its the principles behind it. Our government wouldn't have to rule the world, but the ideas and concepts that founded our government would be of much use to other nations. We couldn't control the whole world, but if our ideas of liberty and equality and such were embraced by everyone, the world would be a much better place.

The question alone is indicative of why many governments throughout the world don't like this country.
ARROGANCE.
When was the last time you really looked at this country?
Don't you see how screwed up things are at this point in time.
We're coming to another election for President and once again we'll end up with someone with enough experience to keep it screwed up.
The blessing is that the countries of the world that don't like this government, haven't formed a secret coalition and is planning an attack on this country that will end it all.

That is one helluva huge "if". The only way America could rule is if we earned the support of the world's people. That ain't gonna happen. If it was going to happen America would have to be something so different from what it is now that it would be virtually unrecognizable. If you're talking about ruling by force, that ain't happnin' either, and it would suck like hell if it did.

Possibly.... That way you couldn't really declare war. But this is assuming that the rest of the world will be like the current USA. No civil wars, and hopefully no persecutions. Of course if those didn't hold true, then obviously most countries would rebell against the US and reestablished their old government.

no. other people would look like dogs on a leash and the americans owners.

No, but it would be a better world if we had smaller, more localized governments that were more attuned to the needs of the common people.
